Introduction

ISO-F vacuum components are standardized fixed-hole-pattern flanges and fittings used in high-vacuum systems where a more rigid bolted connection is preferred. They are part of the ISO large-flange family and are commonly selected for connecting chambers, valves, pumps, and pipeline sections in systems that require stable alignment and repeatable assembly. ISO-F and ISO-K components are covered by ISO 1609 and DIN 28404.

ISO-F components are valuable across vacuum technology sectors such as semiconductor processing, research laboratories, material science, space-related testing, and industrial vacuum systems, where secure large-diameter vacuum connections are essential. Vacuum technologies support semiconductor etching and cleaning, laboratory instrumentation, material science research, and space simulation environments.

At Anadolu Vacuum, our ISO-F standard vacuum components are made for customers who need strong system compatibility, stable bolted connections, and dependable quality. We focus on precision manufacturing, practical engineering support, and vacuum components that integrate confidently into advanced systems.

What is the ISO-F standard?

ISO-F is a fixed-flange vacuum standard used in larger high-vacuum connections. The defining feature of ISO-F is its fixed bolt hole circle, which depends on the nominal diameter. Unlike ISO-K, which is commonly joined with claw clamps, ISO-F is assembled using a bolted pattern, making it particularly suitable where a more rigid and fixed connection is preferred. An ISO-F flange can be bolted directly onto a base plate, and sealing can be achieved using a centering ring or an O-ring in a sealing groove.

Edwards describes ISO-F flanges as having fixed hole patterns, manufactured to ISO 1609 and DIN 28404, typically available in nominal diameters from 40 to 630 mm, and intended for high-vacuum use.

How ISO-F differs from other standards

  • ISO-F uses a fixed bolted hole pattern, which gives it a more rigid mechanical connection.
  • ISO-K belongs to the same standards family, but is normally assembled with claw clamps, making it more convenient for faster servicing or repeated disassembly.
  • KF (ISO-KF) is designed for smaller nominal sizes and quick assembly in lower and high-vacuum applications. KF is standardized in ISO 2861 and commonly used from DN 10 to DN 50.
  • CF is the preferred releasable connection for ultra-high vacuum, using knife-edge flanges and copper gaskets rather than elastomer-based centering-ring seals
